With Apple releasing iOS 4.1 for the developers, the public release is expected to come out in a few days. Saving SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) files of iDevice becomes important if you wish to jailbreak your iDevice by downgrading any time in future. TinyUmbrella is a neat little tool that lets you save SHSH blob files.
The need to save SHSH blobs will be realized when iTunes will refuse to downgrade your iDevice due to bad signature, since the chip id called ECID will be changed with the firmware update. And, if Apple patches the exploits used in jailbreaking and unlocking tools. Once you have the SHSH blobs, you can downgrade from to iOS 4 from iOS 4.1 any time.
How to Save iOS 4 SHSH Blobs on Windows & Mac?
