With Apple releasing iOS 4.1 for the developers, the public release is expected to come out in a few days. Saving SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) files of iDevice becomes important if you wish to jailbreak your iDevice by downgrading any time in future. The need to save SHSH blobs will be realized when iTunes will refuse to downgrade your iDevice due to bad signature, since the chip id called ECID will be changed with the firmware update. How to Save iOS 4 SHSH Blobs on Windows & Mac?

Follow the steps below to save iOS 4 SHSH Blobs using TinyUmbrella. It supports iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 2G/3G on iOS 4 without even jailbreaking your device.

1. Download latest version of TinyUmbrella for your OS: Mac OSX | Windows| Linux

2. iTunes version 9.0 to 9.2 will work with it.

3. Start TinyUmbrella and Plug-in your iDevice.

4. Simply click on “Save my SHSH” to save the SHSH files of your iDevice. This will generate a ticket to save SHSH blobs to Saurik’s server.

Once the ticket is generated, it will be activated. You can downgrade your iDevice any time in future with the activated SHSH blobs.
