BitTorrent Preparing a Paid version of uTorrent

The developers of the most popular torrent downloading client, uTorrent have announced that they will soon offer a premium client under the name of uTorrent Plus, for the users looking for extra features.

grey BitTorrent Preparing a Paid version of uTorrentJordy Berson, Director of Product Management, at BitTorrent said that the premium services in form of uTorrent Plus are not going to affect the free uTorrent client in any way and users will receive the same level of commitment and development resources as it does now; as an assurance to 100 million active users of the most used BitTorrent client.

Expected to release later this year, BitTorrent hasn’t released major details related to the project, except the following:

µTorrent Plus is designed for people who are looking for a single solution to find, get and play content anywhere, on any device. Hassles with codec and conversion issues, struggles with device shifting, and more will be a thing of the past.

Invitation to uTorrent Plus

Hopefully, more details regarding the project will be available soon. If this information entices you, then you can sign up here to receive the updates and invitation to early betas.

Although it’s strange that a client which most of the people use to download free and pirated versions of paid softwares will itself be available as a paid version as well. Sooner or later, it will be ripped on torrents as well like any other paid software.

It’s on BitTorrent, how alluring the features of uTorrent Plus are to make the users pay for the premium version or how to control the spread of it’s copies on the internet. Anyone?

Have your say in comments! What premium features are you expecting?

    Hi Sahil,
This is an older post but do you know if uTorrent Plus is avaiable now? And if so – where can I get access?

I hope they have improved the interface and connection options.

Look forward to hear from you again.
