Chromifox Transforms Mozilla Firefox to Google Chrome

Posted by Heeren On March - 27 - 2010

Google Chrome has an awesome User interface that makes browsing experience amazing as compared to firefox, which has undergone a lot of development, without much attention paid to its look. Due to regular crashes in Chrome, most of us prefer to use firefox, but it would be nice, if you can change the look and feel of firefox, providing it Chrome like interface.

All you have to do is install an add-on named Chromifox – which is basically a firefox theme. There are two versions of this add-on available – Basic and Extreme. You must have noticed, the tabs in chrome are positioned above the address bar, whereas, in Firefox, the tabs are below it.

The only difference between Basic and Extreme versions being, Basic does not change the position of tabs whereas, Extreme has a killer add-on named Chromixfox Companion included within the installer, which gives complete transformation to the existing look of firefox, making it a Chrome look-alike! Before installation, Firefox looked like this-

So, your initially monotonous looking firefox browser is now wrapped up in a new google gift pack! The only difference left is with the existence of Title bar as in firefox. It will look like this-

For earlier versions prior to firefox 3.6, the extension named Chrome Package performed similar funtions. If you are using older versions of firefox, Download Chrome Package.

Download Chromium Basic | Chromium Extreme.

Been using Chromifox for quite a while. Great add-on. Unfortunately it doesn’t work with the beta versions of Firefox 4, and I cannot find anything which says the developer will update it.
