Apple announced their next generation of iPod Touch 4G on September 1st. Even though the the new iPod Touch 4G has not been released and is scheduled for shipping in the upcoming week, the iOS 4.1 Firmware is already available for the unreleased iPod Touch 4G.

Apple’s website is still showing those promising words “Coming Soon“, but 9to5mac noticed the direct download link for the firmware update for 4th generation iPod Touch, somewhere on Apple’s website.
The iOS 4.1 firmware here will only work with iPod Touch 4G, that is yet to reach anyone’s hands. Still, if you wish to have the firmware, you can download the firmware here.
Apple Confirms iOS 4.1 Release on September 8th
This is yet another story for those who are looking forward to Game Center, new HDR photography, fixing iPhone 4′s proximity sensing and bluetooth issues and improving iPhone 3G performance. Apple’s iOS 4.1 will hit on September 8th, as posted on Apple UK website.
Apple seeded iOS 4.1 Golden Master after the September 1 event, but the GM is available to the developers only. If you wish to download and install the latest firmware on your idevice, you need to wait till wednesday!
