Get Ubuntu Installed on Nexus One! [Video]

Nexus one was amongst the first smartphones to get the newly released Android 2.2 “Froyo” installed on it. And, here’s yet another first on the Android based handset! A group of people at nexusonehacks.net have managed to install ubuntu linux on top of Android 2.2 on his rooted Nexus One smartphone.

A direct install of Ubuntu was also possible on Nexus One, but that will make it useless in terms of its smartphone functionalities and render the camera useless as well. So, ubuntu was installed as a sub-system, without affecting existing Android system, with the Ubuntu terminal running in the background while the Ubuntu X11 graphical user interface running as an app under Android VNC app.

    Just a quick reply i got ubuntu working on the telstra t touch tab i rooted it and followed ur instructions the graphical interface is abit buggy and none of the touch type functions work with the telstra tab but i us terminal emulator and just use the console i installed metasploit and aircrack it all works i cant get my card into mon mode yet but im working on it :) even john the ripper works but not very fast at all. but the best thing that works is nmap i love it considering these tabs cost 200 aussie bucks its not bad for a android/linux total on the move pentesting enviroment. thanks
