Within a few days of its launch, iPhone 4 iOS 4 has been successfully jailbroken with Userland jailbreak. The same vulnerabilities that were used to jailbreak earlier versions of iPhone OS using Spirit jailbreak tool, might have been used in userland jailbreak for iPhone 4.
Musclenerd of iPhone Dev Team tweeted today with a high res image of Cydia installed on iPhone 4, jailbroken using userland jailbreak tool, congratulating both @planetbeing and @chpwn for the feat. Using @comex‘s code of userland jailbreak, @chpwn and @planetbeing have managed to get root shell (and SSH) on iPhone 4, as tweeted by planetbeing on twitter.
Cydia Installed on Jailbroken iPhone 4
With the rumors of an updated iOS 4.0.1 to be released soon as a software fix for antenna problems, expect any jailbreak and unlock tool to be released only after apple’s announcement of firmware update on iOS.
