iPhone Dev team has pushed an update for ultrasn0w compatible with iOS4. Ultrasn0w 0.92.1 is available in Cydia and can unlock iPhone 3G/3GS baseband 04.26.08 on iOS4. No official release of unlock for the upgraded baseband is expected(now available) from iPhone Dev team, until iOS4 is publicly released(now available).
After jailbreaking your iPhone 3G/3GS on iOS4, you need to Unlock it to use it with any carrier. The unlocking on iOS4 is similar to the previous versions of the firmware. The latest version of untrasn0w has been moved to a newer source, so you need to add it to Cydia, to install untrasn0w 0.92.1 .
How to Unlock iPhone 3G/3GS baseband 04.26.08 on iOS4
To unlock your iPhone 3G/3GS, you need to install untrasn0w 0.92.1 from Cydia. To do this, folow the steps below:
- Start Cydia on iPhone.
- Go to Manage option at the bottom of the screen.
- Then go to Sources to add the new source.
- Add a new source to Cydia by pressing Edit and adding “http://ios4.ultrasn0w.org” to your Cydia source list.
Cydia will update the sources, this process may take some time.
After the update is over, search and install “ultrasn0w 0.92″ from Cydia. It will unlock your iPhone 3G/3GS on iOS4. Restart your iPhone, and you have the power to use it with any carrier now!
If you upgraded your baseband while jailbreaking your iPhone, then you need for some more time.
Update:
Ultrasn0w 0.93 has been released to unlock any jailbroken iPhone on any baseband. Update your device the the official final release of iOS 4.0 ( jailbreakers stay away, unless you have the jailbreaking/unlocking tool for your device) .
Redsn0w is available to jailbreak iOS 4.0 GM, and the jailbreaking tool for final release of iOS 4.0, is expected soon!
